1755-04-02, Land dispute with Mass.
April 2, 1755 Broadside issued by Gov.James Delancey of New York Province. The proclamation ordered sheriffs, constables and other officers of
Albany and Dutchs Counties to apprehend persons who kidnapped Sheriff Abraham Yates of Albany when he was attempting to take Thomas Whitney into custody;
released only after he paid a random. The basis for this issue was a land dispute between Massachusetts and New York. (Digitized from a microfilm copy
