A Broadside dated April ??, 1693 issued by Governor Benjamin Fletcher of New York Colony, proclaiming a day of prayer. Copy one is faded and thus
the date and other information is difficult to determine. However, copy two is legible. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by
the New York Historical Society Library (c.1) and the Massachusetts Historical Society Library(c.2)).
Title:   By His Excellency Benjamin Fletcher, captain general and governour in chief of the province of New-York ... A proclamation : ... I do hereby strictly prohibit the breaking of the Lord's Day, all prophane swearing, cursing, drunkenness, idleness and unlawful gaming ... Given under my hand at Philadelphia the 29th day of April, 1693.
