1693-06-08, Redemption of slaves, B. Fletcher
Benjamin Fletcher's order of a redemption of slaves(?) dated June 8, 1693. The order allowed churches to collect monies to pay a ransom for several
men who were captured into slavery, as their relatives were unable to raise sufficient funds. This scanned copy is of very poor quality; however a
printed copy of same exists in the Library of Congress and available on-line. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the New
York Historical Society Library).
