Articles of Convention and Agreement between the United States and the Chickasaw Nation of Indians, May 24, 1834, 7 Stat. 450-457. ( Articles of
Convention and Agreement between the United States and the Chickasaw Nation of Indians in which both parties pledge peace and friendship. The Chickasaws
are to be protected by the United States as they search for a home west of the Mississippi River within the territory of the United State. The treaty
describes under what authority reservations may be sold and the process for selling the land vacated by the Indians. Supplementary Articles, 7 Stat.
456-457, cede a former reservation to the United States and provide money to educate Indian children. The Agreement was concluded on May 24, 1834 in
Washington, D.C.)
