1828-09-20, Articles of a Treaty Made and Concluded at the Missionary Establishments
Articles of a Treaty between the United States and the Potowatami Tribe of Indians, September 20, 1828, 7 Stat. 317-320. ( Articles of a Treaty
between the United States and the Potawatomie Indians in which the Indians cede the land along Lake Michigan described in Article 1. As consideration the
Indians received an additional permanent annuity of $2,000, an annuity of $1,000 for twenty years, and goods valued at $30,000. Grants of land to
individual Indians are listed in Article 3. The treaty was concluded on the St. Joseph of Lake Michigan in the Territory of Michigan on September 20, 1828.

Title:   Articles of a treaty made and concluded at the Missionary Establishments upon the St. Joseph, of Lake Michigan, in the territory of Michigan, this 20th day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight / between Lewis Cass and Pierre Menard, commissioners, on the part of the United States, and the Potowatomi tribe of Indians.
