1825-01-20, Articles of a Convention Made Between John C. Calhoun and Head Men of the Choctaw Nation
Articles of a Convention between the United States and the Choctaw Nation of Indians. January 20, 1825, 7 Stat. 234-236. ( Articles of a Convention
between the United States and the Choctaw Nation of Indians in which the Indians cede the land they received by Article Two of the Treaty of Doak's
Stand, 7 Stat. 210 (LLMC 69854). In consideration the United States agreed to pay the Choctaws $6,000 annually forever. The U.S. also agreed to
relinquish the debt the Indians owed to the United States. The treaty was concluded in Washington, D.C. on January 20, 1825.)
Title:   Articles of a convention made between John C. Calhoun, Secretary of War, being specially authorized therefor by the President of the United States, and the undersigned chiefs and head men of the Choctaw nation of Indians, duly authorized and empowered by said nation, at the city of Washington, on the twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five.
