1824-08-04, Treaty with the Sock and Fox Indians
Treaty with the Sock and Fox Indians, August 4, 1824, 7 Stat. 229-230. ( Treaty of Peace and Friendship between the United States and the Sock and
Fox Tribes in which the Indians cede the land specified in Article 1. The United States agreed to pay the Sock and Fox Tribes $500 each in money,
merchandise or domestic animals for ten years. The treaty was concluded at Washington, D.C. on August 4, 1824.)
Title:   Treaty with the Sock and Fox Indians to perpetuate peace and friendship between the United States and the Sock and Fox tribes or nations of Indians, and to remove all future cause of dissensions which may arise from undefined territorial boundaries / the President of the United States of America, by William Clark, Superintendent of Indian Affairs, and sole commissioner specially appointed for that purpose, of the one part, and the undersigned chiefs and head men of the Sock and Fox tribes or nations, fully deputised to act for and in behalf of their said nations, of the other part.
