The Articles of Agreement and Capitulation between the United States of America and the warriors of the Creek Nation was signed August 9, 1814 at Fort
Jackson near Wetumpka, Alabama. This was following the defeat of the Upper Creek (Red Stick) at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. The terms of the treaty
forced the Creek to cede their remaining land in Georgia and much of central Alabama to the United States.)
