Two copies of September 12, 1696 Broadside to announce the adjournment of the Assembly. Gov. Benjamin Fletcher's proclamation indicated that he needed to meet with the Five Nation following recent attacks by the French and French Indians. Thus he adjourned the assembly from September 29 to October 15.
