The criminal code of the German Empire; Translated with a prolegomena and a commentary: by Geoffrey Drage, xvii+365p, London, Chapman and Hall, 1885.
(This, the first criminal code with applicability to the whole German Empire, was first passed by the Federal Council and Federal Parliament in 1870,
and became effective for the North German Confederation on 1 January 1871. Upon the accession of the South German States it was passed anew and came
into force for the full empire on 1 January 1872. The stages of evolution to the 1871 code from the Codex Maximilianus of Bavaria in 1751 is described
by the author on pp. 14-19.)
