1900, Choctaw & Chickasaw laws on citizenship
As to "court claimants" to Choctaw and Chickasaw citizenship by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, 32p., issued by the authority of the General Council
of the Choctaws and the Legislature of the Chickasaws, Oklahoma ?, np, 1900? (The Act of Congress approved June 10,1896 gave the Dawes Commission
additional powers in the preparation of tribal rolls. It provided that the Commissioners were to accept any existing citizenship rolls and to receive
applications for those claiming rights of citizenship in the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations. The Choctaws and Chickasaws objected and contended that such
"court claimants" should not be permitted to share in the division of their tribal property.)
