Greetings valued LLMC Members -

The Annual AALL Conference is upon us – and, as you may know, this year’s theme is ‘From Knowledge to Action’.  A powerful message indeed…and brings to mind a quote by Maya Angelou “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”

Our LLMC nonprofit community has proven over and over again that we’re up to that challenge ….case in point, our efforts on behalf of Haiti.  And now, among other initiatives, and with the financial support of many Patron Libraries, we are bringing to light the Early State Records.  At a time when these historic materials couldn’t be more relevant!

In addition, we’re doing better across the board -- operations, interface, and content opportunities both large and small – so that you and your constituents can do better.  Please take the time to stop by LLMC’s Booth 417 so that we can thank you for your support and share exciting developments such as:

  • new document viewer and navigation enhancements coming soon on LLMC Digital
  • 1,230+ titles of Early State Records online (as of July 5, 2018, with more added every week), complete with cataloging and abstracts; great resource for originalism, separation of powers, emoluments, land and water disputes, and much more…
  • completed the digitization of CRL’s 50-state legislative journals and collaborating on Latin America
  • other global initiatives include: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, foreign gazettes …and,
  • other US initiatives include: Cook County Proceedings, Pennsylvania Side Reports, 7th Circuit Records and Briefs, Minnesota historical Supreme Court briefs, Massachusetts administrative code and state register ….

Finally, we hope you are able to join us at the LLMC Annual Members Meeting in Hilton Holiday Ballroom 6 on Monday, July 16th  at 5:00 pm.  Among other items, we will elect new Board and Advisory Council Members and vote on the conversion of LLMC from a Hawaii to Minnesota 501c3.  We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore!
