Welcome Kurt Meyer as Manager of Global Content Development and Preservation

On November 1st, Kurt Meyer joins LLMC as the Manager of Global Content Development and Preservation. Kurt understands the significance of his new role:  “Legal research is a rapidly changing field. Law libraries often face pressure to decrease physical space to serve their patron groups; instead, they increasingly rely on electronic databases and collections for access to resources they once maintained on-site. Librarians working in legal settings must judiciously select print and electronic resources while considering limited budgets and rapidly changing options. For these reasons, I believe LLMC’s mission to provide affordable, permanent access to high quality legal materials will become even more important for academic, court, and private law libraries – as well as other research institutions - in the future. Realizing this, the opportunity to develop [y]our collection, cultivate relationships with donors and partners, and manage the production of the content will be exceedingly rewarding experiences for me.”

Kurt has worked at both large and small academic law libraries and, most recently, was the Instructional Services Librarian at the University of Minnesota Law School.  He has a JD and MLIS from the University of Illinois.  In addition to joining LLMC, Kurt is making another big change in his life – he is getting married in March!

Kurt will be based in LLMC’s new Eagan, Minnesota office and can be reached by email at kurtm@llmc.com.  Please join us in welcoming Kurt to the LLMC team!
